This is a re-post from a different thread where I posted this but enjoy :D

PLEASE REMEMBER THIS SHOULD WORK IN THEORY, YET TO SEE SOMEONE TEST!!!!

crafting costs, pfft, you can now get up to 90% off crafting using various methods so an M24 would be only like 100 fuel per level to upgrade, the MC M24 would cost 3 fuel to craft i think and a purple body plate Armour costs 6 fuel i think to craft

want to know how? (some of this is down to luck) (this in THEORY should work, haven't seen anyone test this)

FIRST STEP = you have to be in an alliance which has tokens, coordinate to spend your tokens to buy the crafting bonus in the last 3/2 days of wartime, to maximize the amount of tokens saved to buy item next round  :P

you know have 15% ^ in crafting bonus and 20% off

SECOND STEP = acquire as many trick or treat trunks as you can and purchase/ acquire scary keys as many as you can afford

THIRD STEP = acquire 200 fuel and purchase COTCheap 50% from the shop

FOURTH STEP = This is when you are ready to craft, your alliance bonus is up and running

FIFTH STEP = this is the most logical way to do this so that you waste as little resources as possible, open every trick or treat trunk you can before you equip the 50% book, open them over and over, (if you do not know when you open one you get an item and a trick or treat) until you get the HEADLESS HANDYMAN treat which is ANOTHER 20% off crafting  :D

SIXTH STEP = equip your 50% book which makes this 20%+20%+50%= 90% of crafting and craft and upgrade away  :D

HERE IS THE PROOF IT WORKS

SIXTH STEP = equip your 50% book which makes this 20%+20%+50%= 90% of crafting and craft and upgrade away  :D

90% sure that the bonuses do not stack that way. It would actually be;

50% + 20% + 20% calculated this way; 50% x 1.2 x 1.2 = 72%

Still one hell of a discount if you can follow all the steps before the end of the Halloween event

There are two ways of applying it

Say something costs 100 fuel to craft

Option 1 (zombieman's method) each bonus is applied to the initial cost so:

100 - ( 100 * 50% ) - ( 100 * 20% ) - ( 100 * 20% ) = 100 - 50 - 20 -20 = 10 = 90% off

Option 2 (LLiquid's method) each bonus is cumulative. The first bonus takes off 50%, the 2nd takes 20% of the remainder, the third takes 20% of the 2nd remiander:

100 - ( 100 * 50% ) - [ 100 - ( 100 * 50% ) ] * 20% - { 100 - ( 100 * 50% ) - [ 100 - ( 100 * 50% ) ] * 20% } * 20%

100 - ( 50 ) - [ 100 - ( 50 ) ] * 0.2 - { 100 - ( 50 ) - [ 100 - ( 50 ) ] * 0.2 } * 0.2

100 - ( 50 ) - 10 - { 100 - ( 50 ) - 10 } * 0.2 = 100 - 50 - 10 - 8 = 32 = 68% off

(Note it doesn't matter which bonus you apply first, you'll still end up at the same point)

A simpler way to reason it out is multiply the cost by the remaining portion:

i.e.:

100 * 50% * 80% * 80% = 100 * 0.5 * 0.8 * 0.8 = 32 = 68% off

I've seen both methods used by different games, the only way to be sure which method DZ is using is for someone to actually do it.

This is a good concept someone should test but this is my reason for my method is that don't looter books and oooh shinys stack say 9% + 15% to 24% quality items, if so wouldn't it be the best guess that these would stack the same way?

It would be nice to know how the discounts really stack up before I go on a huge crafting and upgrade spree that I've been saving for.

They do stack up.
50% craft of the cheap book + 20% Headless handyman gave 70% discount at crafting cost.
I did it a couple of days ago.

So, theoretically, 90% is possible when purchasing an alliance boost of 20% more.

yes, but we are trying to figure out which way they stack.

well just pick up the one you'll prefer:
- 50 + 20 + 20 = 90
- 20 + 50 + 20 = 90 (also)
- 20 + 20 + 50 = 90 (idem)

Your choice?

ption 1 (zombieman's method) each bonus is applied to the initial cost so:

100 - ( 50 ) - [ 100 - ( 50 ) ] * 0.2 - { 100 - ( 50 ) - [ 100 - ( 50 ) ] * 0.2 } * 0.2

100 - ( 50 ) - 10 - { 100 - ( 50 ) - 10 } * 0.2 = 100 - 50 - 10 - 8 = 32 = 68% off

takata do u get it now?

What I get is simply what I tested myself and already explained.
Is that too simple that you can't figure it out yourself?

- those crafting bonus just add up together.
Craft on the Cheap book = 50%
plus
Headless Handyman bonus = 20%
=> Discount for crafting/upgrading = 70%

e.g. Crafting a blue sword would cost 31 Fuel
with such combo, its price was cut down to 10 Fuel
=> 31*0.3 = 9.3, rounded up to 10.

I've spent 5K fuel worth of upgrades and new craft, then believe me, I fully tested it and the discount was always exactly 70%.

I haven't actually tried this yet, however people have told me that the bonuses stack linearly. Furthermore, I have a report that you can indeed stack three discount (book + alliance boost + treat boost); so I know it's definitely possible. No way to discern that he lied to me , but he said that he was upgrading his ae50 at around 150 fuel per level. Which would indicate linear stacking.

Usually, when calculating percentages, most games go by applying it to the original base number, not to each successive calculation.

That being said, my guess is that the bonuses are multiplicative, not additive, so getting 90% off is likely not possible.

Actually, those bonus are adding up as far as I can tell by using two stacked bonus.

Lee is telling you above that she has crafted her m24s at 7 fuel instead of 21 using the same combo as me: 50% + 20%.
-> 21 * 0.3 = 6.3, rounded up at 7

Any other way of computing this bonus would give other result:
-> 21 *0.5 *0.8 = 8.4, rounded up at 9.

etc.
I verified the discount at 70% with some stuff costing 1,200 fuel for one level upgrade:
1,200 * 0.3 = 360.... it's what I've paid for it, and not 480.

Consequently, if the first two bonnus are adding up, there is no reason to think that the third would be computed otherwise. Then, it's not a simple assumption to say that adding an Alliance war boost to it would make the total disccount to reach 90%.

And I'm done with this subject.
