But when i equip it to my medic, the stats decrease hard (my morale isnt the problem).

 Why is that?

They aren't specialized.

Medics are a poor class for actual fighting, they don't give much of an accuracy bonus (From their ranged combat skill) to weapons.  I presume you had either a Scavenger, Fighter, or your leader carrying the shotgun in the first picture, correct?  If so; Scavs specialize in shotguns, Fighters have a high ranged combat skill, and your leader could have a respectable ranged combat skill depending on how you spent their level-up points thus far.

Actually no one was equipping it, thats why i found it very strange.

Edit: i mean, the doc always had it equipped, even in the first picture, but one is from the items list and the other one from the equipment

Different survivor classes have different specialisations. If a survivor is specialised in a weapon type, they get a (from memory) 10% boost to accuracy and damage. If a survivor is not specialised (or completely un-suited) they get the bonus in reverse (i.e. they have 10% less accuracy and damage)

Yes, i knew it, but lets say, the item itself has "standard" stats.

This is the item looked from the inventory:

8sARL.png

This is the item when my doc equips it:

8sAQW.png

And this is the item when my scavenger (specialized) wears it:

8sASE.png

as you can see, the doc has less stats than the standard and, obviously, the scavenger has more stats. Maybe, it has something with the doctors stats or level (because now that i leveled him a bit his dps is a bit higher than before), but still, i think it shouldnt be less than the standard one of the weapon, just "less higher" than compared to other really fighters. Please, correct me if im wrong.

Thank you all for your time and and answers.

Edit: Lliquid, the damage in the doc is the same, the only different thing is the hit chance, and is more than 10%

The second picture is the unequipped one, the first picture is the one with your presumed Medic carrying it.  That may be where your confusion is coming from.

No. You are wrong. It is how i said, if you check your weapon from the inventory it tells who has it equipped in attack and defense

I believe the confusion is stemming from the medic's ranged combat stat. What is that, perchance?

If he's got a ranged combat stat below 10, you're gonna have reduced damage and hit chance. Above 10, and the opposite applies.

If character is not specialized to that weapon type you won't get reduced accuracy and damage, you just won't get the 10% boost.

How do you use books?

1. There are 4 grey squares below your leader's name.

2. Click on one of the squares.

3. Then, click a book. (If you have one)

4. Notice that you can't use two of the same kind of book without a book that lets you do that. (Forgot what it's called)
